Profcheck en License renewal
Revalidation
(rating has not yet expired)

  • SEP Rating. Can be revalidated with an examiner. Or with an instructor provided one has flown, the year preceding the expiry of the rating, 12 hours SEP of which 6 hours as PIC and of which 1 hour was with an FI .
  • SEP/IR Rating. Can be rehabilitated with an examiner. The SEP / IR check can be combined with an MEP/IR check on a MEP aircraft provided that the candidate has made 3 SE / IR approaches in the past year .
  • MEP and MEP/IR Rating. Can be rehabilitated with an examiner.
License Renewal
Renewal (rating has expired)

  • SEP Rating. Regardless of when the rating has expired, the ATO needs to train the candidate again towards the required level before the candidate can be nominated for the professional check to an examiner.
  • IR Rating. On the basis of the amount of time passed by since expiry one determines how much training the candidate needs before being submitted to an examiner for a professional check. In general, there is no training needed if the rating has expired less than 3 months. At least 1 training session if the rating has expired for longer than three months and less than one year and at least three training sessions if the rating has expired more than one year. If the rating has expired for more than seven years, the full course must be redone.
  • MEP Rating. If the rating is expired for more than 3 months, there should be done two training sessions. More than 3 months but less than one year, means at least three training sessions and for more than three years means that the initial course will have to be done again.
  • ME/IR Rating. The same as the SE / IR Rating applies.
