The training

From your first lesson.
To your first solo.

Learn to fly as a hobby in your free time or for your own personal and business travel—not for hire or paid commercial flights for third parties.

Learn the theory, prepare each flight with your instructor and steadily build confidence at the controls. Your training combines aircraft handling, navigation and decision-making.

The PPL training minimum is 45 flight hours, including at least 25 hours with an instructor and 10 solo hours. The course includes 100 hours of online theory. Individual progress determines how many lessons you need.

Build your skills.

A structured route, with room for your life.

  1. 01

    Theory & preparation

100 hours of online theory across nine subjects: principles of flight, navigation, meteorology, aircraft knowledge, air law, operational procedures, human performance, communications, and flight performance and planning (including mass and balance). Classroom or hybrid learning and personal homework support are also available.

  2. 02

    Flight training

Train one-to-one with your instructor in aircraft handling, take-offs, landings and navigation. The 45-hour minimum includes at least 25 hours of dual instruction and 10 supervised solo hours, of which five are solo cross-country. The published Cessna package provides 25 dual and 20 solo hours.

  3. 03

    Solo & skill test

Build towards a solo cross-country flight of at least 150 NM (270 km), with full-stop landings at two other aerodromes. Practise instrument flying and prepare for the examiner’s skill test. A Class 2 medical, a radiotelephony examination and an English language proficiency assessment (LPE) form part of the course.

Built around you.

A practical approach to making flying part of your life.

01

Inspired by the Ryanair low-cost model, we combine lean overheads, low-cost airports, a high degree of automation, leased aircraft from third-party partners and modular training in EU countries with lower labour costs. This reduces training expenses and lets us plan modules at suitable locations.

02

Flight training that fits your life.

At ExecutiveFlight, we fit your training around your life. Choose when to attend theory, flight lessons and briefings, with a flexible plan around your work, family and other commitments.

03

Your language. Your choice.

Study in Dutch or English. At ExecutiveFlight Academy, you can complete your full training and examinations in English.

04

Theory: at home, in the classroom or both.

Study online at home in your own time, join classroom lessons or combine both. Choose the way you learn best, with personal support to help you move forward.
