You live in Eindhoven and you and a colleague have an unscheduled meeting in Kempten, 75 Km's from Friedrichshafen in Southern Germany:
Airline scenario You need to travel to Amsterdam airport taking into account traffic jams, then park your car & wait at check-in. Change planes in Frankfurt, fly to Friedrichshafen, check-out, rent a car & finally drive to your destination. You had to set the alarm clock at 04.30 to arrive at Shiphol at 07.00 departing 8.30 arriving in Frankfurt 09.00. Departing for Friedrichshafen 10.00, arriving there at 11.00, checkout, rent a car & depart by car for your final destination at 12.00. when you arrive it is 13.00 so everybody is at lunch. The meeting finishes at 16.00.
