So you want to follow your dream and become a pilot? Or you are at least seriously considering a step in this direction?
Well by now you must be at least a bit confused. The only certainty is that your PPL or ATPL is going to be expensive. Very expensive. For CPL- and ATPL students the job prospects are going to be uncertain to say the least, so what is wisdom?
Questions you might have... I want to become a pilot but I have no money to pay for my training! What is the impact of the financial crisis on my job propects? I failed math in highschool or my previous scholarly achievements were not exactly top-notch, what to do? I don't like my current training provider and want to leave. Can I take my ratings, hours etc. with me? I have some minor health problems, is this a problem? Which school is the best one to go to? Should I complete another study first? Why not try to get into the airforce, where all will be paid for me? How many flying hours do I need to be even considered by an airline? Do I fit the profile to be happy in a pilotjob over the years? Always away from home, friends, family, stress) (Planes are nowadays flying computers, many even without primary flight controls.) I failed KLS / airforce selection, is this the end or are there more options? I hear training in the US is much cheaper, but people tell me it's bad and/or not valid in Europe? Should I get an independent flight aptitude asessment from someone that does not want to sell me training? Which test is the best one? There are so many! Can I train to improve testresults? Are there fiscal advantages associated with flight training in my country? Etc.
